Adirondack Chairs are Back

by guestpost on October 24, 2008

Adirondack chairs can be such a welcome sight when you finish your day and head to the back yard to relax. They are so durable and comfortable that you’ll get years of pleasure from them with a minimum of maintenance. Generally made of painted wood, Adirondack chairs are going through a resurgence at homes all across the county. For years, we used the classic folding aluminum chair with a web seat and back. They were functional, but not very attractive and despite the fact you could replace the webbing, we learned to hate them. Back yard furniture should require little to no maintenance. If you have ever spent a Saturday afternoon lacing up your aluminum chairs and searching for screws that were not rusted, you know how frustrating it can be. With the addition of a grouping of Adirondack chairs you will discover the peace of low maintenance without sacrificing any comfort. They might need a coat of paint every four or five years, depending on the weather conditions, but you’ll enjoy them enough that you won’t be bothered. If you want to enhance the comfort of these beautiful chairs to the next level, consider the addition of cushions. New cushion designs are often filled with a mold proof filler that is low maintenance.
